It’s A WhatIzIt?

Found this on the Missouri Primrose eating a flower bud.
We thought it was cool but we have no idea what it will turn into.
There is just one which is a disappointment for me
but my wife is relieved because it was eating her flower.
I tired to tell her if she wasn’t going to eat it
why not let the WhatIzIt have it.
She didn’t buy that idea!
So.. What is it?

Update!
The WhatIzIt will become a White-lined Sphinx Moth!
(Thank You Christine!)

I do envy you having this beautiful creature in your yard. The moth is equally spectacular. V

It looks like the same thing that eats foliage of tomato plants. I knock them of nad hit them with a shovel when I was a small child. My mother, the gardener would squish them with her fingers.

No idea what it will turn into, but it's a great find and shot.
