Feeding

Tree swallow feeding a soon to fledge chick.
A week or so ago I was on a walk and a hawk swooped
in an pulled a chick out of this house and flew away.
It was distressing to watch because I really like the swallows
but a hawk has to eat too!

Beautiful shot. It is distressing to see such things happen, but as you say, hawks must eat too. V

Sad but that's how nature is sometimes. Nice capture of the feeding.

Nice shot - interesting that a hawk figured how to grab a chick. We've noticed a decline in swallow population here over the years :( V

a touching scene...young birds do face dangers, so hope some of the chicks survive to mature and fly around eating loads of bugs..
