20050527 / Bell Ringer

Pleasure Point / Capitola, CA

After getting my bell rung by a kook-missile on 38s,
I needed a post-surf pick up. This is the entrance of
The Chill Out Cafe. Alcoholics have dive bars, caffeine
junkies the Chill Out. A dive cafe if there ever was
one. They make a damn fine bronze hop. I'll give 'em that.

For the curious:

Kook-Missile: A surfboard sent flying in the direction of another surfer due to the inability of the 'kook' to hold onto his equipment.

Bronze Hop: A 'Bronze' at Amore Cafe in Greater Detroit, MI is a hazelnut latte. The 'Hop' or 'Jump' is just an extra shot of espresso.

In case you were wondering, having your bell rung by a flying surfboard is probably roughly akin to taking a a blow to the back of your head with a folding chair.

Chris, you need to put a surf to redneck translator on your site! How do you expect us Tennessee folks to understand this stuff!LOL

I am enjoying my home brewed bronze hop as I look through your pics!

Chris you're lapsing into that foreign language again.
Good shot of this door, I get a feel for the place.
I like the one with the surf crossing as well!

such a small space.
sorry to hear about the...er... thingy...er... ringing your bell. (?!)
