20050428 / Surf or Shoot?

Marina State Beach, CA

After watching a resident fisherman reel in a leopard shark, I thought I was better off snapping
of a dozen or so shots of the local shredders. True enough, the spotted fellow was little more
than a toe muncher at three and a half feet, but why risk it? And besides, while the leopard shark
rarely attacks humans, it is considered prey for larger fish and sharks, including the Great White.

This is a great action capture. I really like the breaking wave and the board cutting through it. Very nicely done.

This is really awesome, Chris. I love how you caught him right when the wave was folding. The way he holds his body appears very graceful. I think I like that you were shooting and not surfing or we all would have missed out on a good photo :)

Well, you got a great shot here & why not just enjoy the sand for a change, huh? P.S. Is that a great white in the background I see...? tee-hee-hee
