20050419 / Daggers

"Bamboo Pavillion, can I help you?"

"Yeah, I need a carry out."

"OK, go ahead."

"Kung Pao Tofu, medium hot"

"Oh, hi Chris! You want steamed rice with that?"

"Hook it up, dear."

"Ok! Ten Minutes."

Yeah, I know. Kung Fu movie night and Chinese Food. Maybe that's just a little
'played', but how can you watch Zhang Ziyi slice and dice while eating a burrito?
I know I can't. House of Flying Daggers is directed by Zhang Yimou, who is an
absolute master. Anything his name is tied to is golden. He recently directed Jet
Li in the excellent Hero. Before that he made a series of films with the
beautiful Gong Li. Raise the Red Lantern, Ju Dou, and Qiu Ju are a few.

Anyway, that's enough of my filmwatcher's soapbox. :)

Not seen the film yet, it's on my rental-by-post list. And not a huge fan of Chinese food, but I must admit that the medium hot Kung Pao Tofu, sounds like it's gonna rock!

Nice...a Chinese movie and Chinese take-out. What a combo.
Looks like we've got the same taste in movies! I absolutely LOVE Zhang Yimou's movies. And don't forget "The Red Sorghum" and "To Live.:"

The movie was alright. Watch the one called "Kung Fu Hussle" if you're into the comedy ones as well :D

A burrito would be wrong, but a pizza goes with anything! :-)

Nice imagery.

(sorry I posted this twice. I got logged out some how)
