13th September

Beach House, the former Nursing Home that has sat disused and boarded up
next door to the ferry terminal at Wemyss Bay since 2005
was believed to be the victim of an arson attack last week,
now it looks set to be demolished and replaced with new flats...
(Link to News Article)

After missing the ferry home yesterday while eating my sausage supper
i had time to go take a look round before the next ferry arrived! ;-)

What a shame it ended this way. I like all the photos on this page. New flats will be boxes with no ambiance.

Shame, but when property is left unused this is usually the outcome.

I guess it's cheaper to demolish and build from new than to restore. Shame.

That's a shame, I bet the new flats will not have the same character.

I've never thought of Wemyss Bay as a centre of criminal activity. The Marbella of the Firth of Clyde! Crikey.

Damn I was going to buy this when I won the lottery.

it was always going to get knocked down, think it was a matter of when. Surprised you managed to get this close, you must have been feeling brave!
