Port Vincent - a tiny coastal town on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia

Quiet holiday and retirement town on the Yorke Peninsula.
Port Vincent is more upmarket than most of the holiday towns on the west coast of Gulf St Vincent
as it is both a holiday and a retirement destination. It has a genuinely delightful beach and there is a
feeling of elegance and permanence which is not typical of many of South Australia's wonderfully temporary
and casual coastal towns. There is really only one reason for visiting Port Vincent: relaxation.

We saw this couple climbing onto the breakwater, was interesting to see them

climb down again afterwards, they were more nimble than either of us!

The Marina

Fairly new and plenty of gaps waiting for boats to berth, or perhaps the boats

were out on the briny catching fish! When we last visited the marina was

still in the process of being built; we were quite surprised to see quite a few

new houses this visit.

Jetty steps

We didn't descend to the briny, only looked. On warmer days there'd be a few

youngsters diving or fishing from the steps, or maybe a boat anchored.

Blue Sea and Sky

A beautiful day for a drive with the warmth of the sun and

a pretty beach to visit close by. This town is north of where

we stayed on our recent visit for Mum's 98th birthday.

The sun sets on the other side of the peninsula, but we still managed to get some

pretty colour the night we all met for a meal at the waterside pub.

Way behind catching up, Von...hope Mum & Sis are both well & not unsettled by the recent fires....it looks restful here & pretty too.
