Petals
Thank you for your kind words yesterday they
soothed me heaps & were much appreciated.
This Pad offering is the last for my 2nd year
although it doesn't officially end until the
14th, I am performing a recital on piano
tomorrow and have another busy day Sunday
so I'm calling it a day. I intend starting
up a PESO gallery soon because I know I would
miss all the wonderful friends made on PAD!
To go out with a "bang" here are 3 more
offerings from our autumn garden.
(Wow - I didn't make them THIS big - something wrong with thumbnails today?)
and a desaturated red

Tribute to my Auntie
Sorry folks, you tapped in with this mini challenge topic
just after I went to visit my Auntie who's just hanging in
there by a thread, just like the petal on this spent rose.
It was her birthday yesterday & I've been feeling blue
ever since thinking of her.
Others taking part in the challenge
10-MAY-2006
Dead bloom
On the butterfly bush
and here's another shot
of a different dead bloom
A job for me to cut them all off or
we'll have baby butterfly bushes
popping up everywhere
09-MAY-2006
Crunchy apples...
I think these are "gala" apples, one
of my favourites. Dick picked them up
at one of the greengrocers a couple
of days ago.. here's a bowl of them.
08-MAY-2006
Fuchsia
My last week of my 2nd year as a padder.
The fuchsias are putting on a show right now
and I think I have the right name for the
main pictured bloom.
Here's the 2nd offering for today
(both are best in "original")
07-MAY-2006
Acacia
I dived quickly outside to take a few shots of
an acacia that's just coming into bloom in
our garden. We've had gales hail and rain
on and off most of today and its very cold
here for this time of year.
Here's a closer shot of some of the tiny tufts of bloom
06-MAY-2006
Just for a day...
Another wet cold & windy day, I managed
to get out into the garden between showers
to capture this daylily freshly opened.
05-MAY-2006
Tiny nest
Measuring 1.5-cms it revealed a tiny pupa nestling inside
an unopened nest alongside this one.
Its been wet and foggy most of today, so I
had a play with psd and 2 tiny ornaments
that belong to our son (who incidentally has
flown the nest and lives in San Francisco these days)
04-MAY-2006
Powered by the sun
It belongs to our son and was given to
him by a specialist in prisms & lenses.
The sun makes the little fan swirl
Anyone know the name of it?

Up close & personal...
Experimenting in very close shots.
Here's another one, same day lily
02-MAY-2006
The wet...
In cast Laine Sheila & other Aussie pbasers have forgotten
what RAIN looks like - we've had it ALL day today and
the main picture is a sample!
Here's a shot I took this morning of a
little casket given to me many years
ago by a fellow musician.
(Best seen in original)

Raindrops
I tried to capture the sunlight via the raindrops
but without success - this was as good as I could get.
Here's raindrops on autumn leaves & the stems of the leaves.

The Autumn Leaves
The falling leaves drift by my window
The falling leaves of red and gold
and a little something we found in our car
a couple of days ago
29-APR-2006
250 years of Mozart's music...
The composer's brief and turbulent life began Jan. 27, 1756
in the Austrian city of Salzburg.
Here is a sample from one
of his often played piano sonatas
as you probably know, Wolfgang started composing
from the age of 4, although young students these
days find his music challenging to play.
Here is a shot of our younger granddaughter's
hands poised over my piano
27-APR-2006
Sunlight on the green...
As I walked the footpath through a section of the valley
this tree shedding leaves caught my eye and the sward
of green the other side "grass is always greener..."
and here's someone's driveway I passed on my walk
there's 2 shots taken of it, although the lighting
was better in the other photo,
I prefer the comp of this one.
27-APR-2006
The local pub
A bit of a long step from where we live, but it
is the closest pub, very close to where 2 of
our daughter's live with their little families.
Here's another shot
26-APR-2006
In the shadows...
Two contrasting pieces today - shadows and sunlight.
Not much time for the camera today, I'm taking
Dick out to see the Harp Consort playing Spanish Music!
25-APR-2006
Lest we forget ...
Someone left these beautiful roses at the foot of the
memorial cross at this morning's Dawn Service
and someone else left this simple
little twig of Rosemary
For more ANZAC photos the
twig of Rosemary
will take you there.

Reflections
Entertaining the grandkids again
we had all 6 today so Dick
packed a picnic lunch and
we took the footballs
and had a relaxing time watching
them play footy.
Another reflective shot of B-H creek
21-APR-2006
Three birds
On the beach at Port Elliot
and here's a person clambering down
some rocks

21-APR-2006
Pelican on the Murray
This bird let me walk up to within a metre
or so to take this shot
The Murray is our only decent sized river
Here's a sign that hung from the
side of the carriage of the cockle train
that I took photos of - refer to
yesterday's PAD to see the little train.
21-APR-2006
The Cockle Train
The engine coming to pull the Cockle Train.
This little train choofs between 3 beaches during
school holidays, public holidays and weekends
during the days when there isn't a fire restriction.
P.S. I think the driver let the steam off
especially for me!
Here's the fellow adding more coal to the engine
a close up of the lamp
and at the station
We've been entertaining grandkids all day today...
19-APR-2006
Pathways
A popular suburban shopping area, we had
to park a fair way down the road
and walk, which was quite
interesting and pleasant.
Another view while walking
The 2nd of a series
19-APR-2006
Suburban chicane
We've been out and about today, on the
way home we drive through this chicane
to avoid another more difficult route.
We called in at some shops and had
the opportunity of shooting these
autumn leaves.
18-APR-2006
Autumn in the rose garden...
There's plenty of these in the rose garden right now
Here's a hip from another rose, they're all a bit different...
and a rose that just keeps on flowering all year
15-APR-2006
Easter egg scramble
Ready-set-go - the older kids were held back until
the little ones had their go, then away they went!
The last of a series of 3 photos taken down
in the Southern Vales. If I knew how, I would
have shown all the coloured eggs strewn over the oval.
Here's another shot of the grasses
15-APR-2006
Grasses & vines
Grasses growing along the fenceline. Some of the
vines had turned more than others. This group
of vines was just starting to turn...depends on
the type of grape.
Here's a weed that was going to seed in this
crop of grass.
15-APR-2006
Sunlight on the vines
We've been picnicking down amongst the vines
in the Southern Vales area today, hence 2 shots
of autumn leaves shimmering in the sunshine...
14-APR-2006
Sun shining on the hillside
I'm standing on our driveway looking towards
Mt. Lofty (with the towers) - the rain has
just cleared and the sun is poking through
the clouds. There is a valley between
the "mount" and us. This is our view.
Here's the tiniest little daisy, 15-mms diameter
at the most. I tried to keep as still as
possible to take the photo & get it in focus.
13-APR-2006
Prince of the graveyard...
Found growing in an old graveyard
the rose was named after the nearest
deceased epitaph. The rose belongs
to the "tea" class and grows easily
in our Mediterranean climate.
Here's a rosebud named after
our neighboring country, New Zealand.
12-APR-2006
Out of the gallery window
We went for a tour around a boutique art gallery today, they were displaying early drawings
and maps made by Dutch explorers of The Great South Land. which they referred to as
New Holland. The gallery fronted onto a parkland on the north of the city of Adelaide.
Here's a shot taken inside the gallery...
I rather liked how the picture of the
girl is reflected in the glass of the
side hung pictures.
11-APR-2006
Fallen vine leaf
there's plenty of these now and others
will join them soon.
Here's an evergreen leaf, a pink lobelia & the rose "Tamora"
09-APR-2006
It's only "pretend" Grandma...
Toy cars seems to go with having grandsons...
Here's the one who wanted the photo of the
little car...& yes, he's had his curls cut, Laine.
09-APR-2006
Autumn in the rose garden...
A quick wander around the garden
finding some of the leaves of the
"antique" roses turning colour...
This particular one was Fantin-Latour
and a few other little treasures.

The old cart
An old derelict cart under a mallee gum
in the yard of some farmer friends of ours
Here's something else that was in the yard
(using the green-grey filter)

Sheep
We were travelling in sheep country a couple
of days ago. Its limestone country as
you can see.
Here's a relic from the past
from this particular area
04-APR-2006
Ardrossan silos
..and some weather on its way!
Here's another cheeky tern peering
over the picnic table at
Ardrossan beach!

Tern eating
You're very lucky to get this in focus
the tern was after my lunch!
Here's one being rather bossy
04-APR-2006
Kunzea nuts
An early start for us today - we're going visiting
and staying overnight because of the distance.
I will catch up with all of your pad shots on our return.
Here's shot I took yesterday
of some dead leaves on a dryandra
(best viewed in original)
and an old shot of the kunzea flower
03-APR-2006
Up close...
Stattice grows wild self-seeding and popping up here and
there. Dick is careful when he mows not to mow over the
little clumps of plants. Apart from that they get no
special treatment. Here is a shot of the vine leaf
the stattice is sitting on for the photo...
(best in original)
02-APR-2006
From below
Under the dappled shadows of a huge golden elm
this rose caught my eye...
and here's the tiniest little bloom, only 15-mms in length
on a trailing ivy-like hanging potplant
best seen in original
and an early chrysanthemum

31-MAR-2006
Red, red rose...
An Australian bred rose using old
tea roses to breed with, it has
a delightful fragrance! I've ordered
4 of them for my garden.
Here's a grevillea - a photo I took
while visiting our nephew yesterday
the shrub was covered in these
blooms & abuzz with bees
(best viewed original)
31-MAR-2006
Old tractor
It still goes - and belongs to our nephew
who's farm we visited today
A close up of the light
and some of the workings
30-MAR-2006
Tree with a twisted trunk
A fascinating tree in a windy spot on the side of a hill
Here's the same tree in colour (best seen in original)
and a normal version
and a whole row of them edging a road
29-MAR-2006
Pink "Geranium"
I tossed up whether to put the conker or the "geranium" on top
Here's the conker (which looks much better in original)
and here's our very first camellia for 2006
28-MAR-2006
28th for fragrance!
This top one is an old Hybrid Perpetual which does
best in autumn in our climate
Here's an old tea rosebud covered in raindrops
and a well-known old Bourbon
27-MAR-2006
Shrivelled
Its a spent flower-head of a succulent
but take a look at nature's artwork
in this next shot...
and the knitting I had intended to feature today
It's been raining on and off all day, & its lovely and COOL!
26-MAR-2006
Spent!
Not much left, just a matter of time...
and here's another shot of the same thing
using a green filter minus colour

ANTS
Hope the grandkids don't go popping these or using
them as puppets!
Here's a cute little ruby coloured viola
and this shows my age ;-)
23-MAR-2006
SNAP!
Potting up spring annuals now so they get a
head start in the autumn

Mums-n-Pels
The very first chrysanthemums for the season
and a couple of different pelargoniums..
21-MAR-2006
Horses for courses..
Our home-made horse float that has been used for
all sorts of transportation, e.g., horses, calves & steers,
shifting house, carting pea-straw and lucerne hay etc.
A couple more shots of the horse float's bits and pieces

The grandchildren love this task even though they
have to walk uphill to do it.
Here's the chain which slips over the attachment
and the gatepost
Taken in the morning sunshine before breakfast
18-MAR-2006
Miss Cutie 2-year-old
My cousins daughters and grand-daughter came
visiting - and they wanted to see our
2 calves Polly and Betty..
Here is Miss 2-year-old before the psd

Not a spider...
Its a seedhead of the blue clematis
and here's another seedhead
this one's a Banksia
17-MAR-2006
Green 4 SP
Actually, its a bay leaf
Here's a bit of rust
and more bay leaves for SP
16-MAR-2006
The thistle
I rather liked this reversal
perhaps its been to the hairdresser!
Same picture the other way around
15-MAR-2006
ZAP!!!
Electric fencepost which runs between the horse
paddock and the rose garden - for obvious reasons!
Dick had to reroute the fenceline by a metre and
attach the electricity to put the roses out
of reach from the horses & cattle...
Here's some clematis leaves attaching themselves
to the newly erected trellis
13-MAR-2006
Romping dogs
Two of our daughters have sisters from the same litter
they're now about 5 y.o but still enjoy a romp!
A couple more shots of Gemma and the ball
dogs taken on the "sports" setting
13-MAR-2006
Loving the cool...
This old H.P. from 1887 looked wonderful this morning
with raindrops on her petals!
..and so did this exotic Tipsy Imperial Concubine!
12-MAR-2006
Photographing in 38C
Some roses and flowers are quite unperturbed when the
temperature climbs - 38C is roughly 100F as Sheila will
tell you - and maybe the last burst of heat as we
settle into autumn. Here are more flowers and a
look at the sky bringing change.
11-MAR-2006
Succulent in flower...
One of my waterwise plants in pots which survive today's 37C
without a problem especially if its in filtered shade
like this one is.
A busy weekend, babysitting 2 little boys
and 2 little dogs, plus 2 concerts to go to
there's a festival in town.
10-MAR-2006
Is it just a stick...?
Found this stick insect hanging upside down on the
branch of a rose bush this morning, they're the oddest
looking things!
Here's something easily recognised,
a miniature rose
09-MAR-2006
Rose bud & the vine...
This is Lady X putting on another flush in the
rose garden for the autumn display...
(not fried roses like Sheila's with her 37C daytime temperature)
Outside shot taken at sunset last night
Here's the ornamental vine in the morning sunlight
08-MAR-2006
Toy xylophone
We had this little set when our children were small, and
now the grandchildren are having some enjoyment with them.
Here's another little treasure from my music room
a little ringbox that belonged to my mother-in-law
left to me because of the music & roses motif.
07-MAR-2006
Nearly autumn!
Yvonne and the spider webs again did you say!?
Well, the temperature dropped by 10C into a very
pleasant autumnal day this morning. Overcast and
very suitable for photographing!
This particular rose with the deadheads is Fantin-Latour
but here's a more modern rose with colourful hips
and some autumn leaves (already) on 2 entwining clematis
True autumn usually begins with the equinox
06-MAR-2006
Ancient glass paperweight
Given to me by my long gone Great-aunt. The
paperweight could be 100 years of age.
What amazed me was the macro-image showed up
scratches not noticeable with the naked eye!
The paperweight belongs in my music room
and here's an open page from one of my
music textbooks.
and a SPIT cake from yesterday's 5th birthday of
our youngest grandchild.
05-MAR-2006
Shadows
Not much inspiration today. I tried to photograph
a little fairy wren that was popping around the pathway
but he was too fast for me...
03-MAR-2006
Heat-resistant roses...
A rose bred for Australian conditions this one
is performing right now regardless of several
days of 35C+
Here's me being waterwise with succulents
03-MAR-2006
Spider in a leaf
I think the spider got a bit curious when my
camera flashed, and came out to see what was lurking!
Here's a black & white picture of one of our ancient trees...
02-MAR-2006
Pink tissues
Couldn't quite decide which order to put today's shots
Those red x's again!
Here's a 2nd shot of the tissue box
and a bud opening on the plumbago
Why am I shooting tissue boxes today - well
its rather hot & glarey out there at 36C
the plumbago is an archive shot.
01-MAR-2006
Blood red!
Lots of experimenting going on with all 3 shots
today, lots of "de"ing to get the colours right
and minimise glare - a perennial problem under
our sunny skies - although the red was in the shade
the others weren't.
Those red "x's" again!
Here's a rugosa in sepia
and a lovely soft image of Oktavius Weld - a foundling rose
28-FEB-2006
Horses grazing
I've been visiting a rose nursery today taking
photos of roses I don't have growing in my
rose garden for a project I'm working on.
I pass through the Southern Vales
and it was a pleasant summery day, pure blue skies
some scenes took the eye including these horses.
For those who can't take the glare, here they
are in sepia...
some wine grapes - all the vines are LOADED
and grape pickers are beginning to turn up
for the annual harvest...
and a sign that I've been meaning to stop and shoot
for quite a while - Breakneck Creek!
27-FEB-2006
In the vicinity of the shed...
Today I took shots of things rusty or in the
vicinity of the shed...

..and I was all set up with all the rusty bits and pieces
when Dick called my attention to what he'd been harvesting
in the garden. This picture will take you to the right gallery
Just a single...
Our rose garden is quite colourful right now

Self portrait
A bit of artwork by our 3rd grandson
its a portrait of himself. His Mum

know which grandson this one is!
We sat al fresco for our evening meal
here's a couple of bug catchers that
were in use...
24-FEB-2006
Curiosity
Not very good weather for the outdoors today
hot and humid alternating with heavy rain
and a forecast for thundersqualls. Here's a
shot I took 15 mins ago - Sheila must have sent
the dark clouds over our way!
and a rose I processed earlier today
Paul Bocuse
I no sooner downloaded my pad that the storm arrived!

Out to dinner
Our lunchtime venue yesterday while entertaining
our visitor from Somerset England.
Another view inside the restaurant
and another shot of the old farm gate with
the sign on "Please shut the gate"
Pictures of the wine we chose and the door to the tasting
rooms were featured in yesterday's PAD (next)

Farm gate
We looked after a traveller from the U.K. today
picking her up from her daughter's farm
and taking her out to lunch with us
in the Southern Vales wine growing area.

***
Lunch at Marienberg winery's restaurant after
some wine tasting to select the wine for our table.
Our visitor left Somerset enduring -2C and today's
temperature was 31C which our visitor thought was
rather hot!
Roses...
Decided to feature my favourite flower today
though I did have it in mind to display
some hanging bark, which probably would
have bored everyone to tears...
a cluster of fully opened blooms
and a shy young miss...
20-FEB-2006
The male domain
A good place for disappearing in
one can't see inside without
going right over to the shed!
Here the colourful version
and with the "lights on" or psd
Note the rusty old fridge - that fridge is over 40 years old
and still works like a charm - it will freeze the drinks
or cauliflowers if we don't keep an eye on it!
19-FEB-2006
Gardening tools
Had a lovely day pottering around in the garden
(mostly near the house since the snake sighting)
Here's a couple of others shots in
similar vein...

Bouganvillea
We had a delightful get-together of old friends
last night. The meal was al fresco in the pretty
garden graced by this colourful bouganvillea.
Our hostess's specialty is pork pies, which Dick LOVES!
..and a couple more shots of
the bouganvillea

Especially For Valentine's Day
Been saving this one for a few days,
its a few hours early even for us Down Under
11-FEB-2006
Harvesting the pines
They're all coming out and new ones will most probably take
their place. Its where Dick rides his horse - instead of
riding amongst shady trees he's riding amongst stubs left
behind ...no doubt it will be cleared properly and nice neat
rows of new pines will be planted.

Its going to be a good year for making sauce & chutney!
and here's the end of the line of 13 plants
09-FEB-2006
Peeling
We had 40mls of rain during the night. This morning
we were greeted by gumtrees shedding their bark
and the mess on the paths! Take a look at the
pathway in the following shot I experimented with!
and here's a fully opened ROYAL bloom
16-DEC-2005
Watch where you walk!
Often discovered too late when walking around the garden!
But there are other things in the garden besides spiders...
e.g., this pretty silver moth
or a bottlebrush bloom that looks similar to robins nestling in
a shrub especially in the early morning sunshine
and lastly the delicacy of an aquilegia seed capsule
If you notice the date - the reason is a snake which I found while
spreading pea-straw in the rose garden so I'm staying out of the garden
for a few days. Our snakes are venomous, one
person made the morning paper because he got bitten and is
fighting for his life in hospital!
06-FEB-2006
February roses..
There's quite a bit of colour in the rose garden
patches of blooms here and there.

My bush has blooms like this 2nd one the same time as the
shot featured as the main rose today.
This comment added specifically for Brian.

Betty & Polly
Two little heifer calves we have to

last week. They help keep our grass
in check during the bushfire season.
Another shot of Polly, who nearly
missed being in the above shot.
and a Banksia in the early morning sunlight

Leaves...
Very bright sunlight today, so had
to go hunting in the shady spots

Bee at work...
A gumtree opposite our front gate is absolutely laden with
blossom with heaps of bees buzzing to and fro...
Here's yet ANOTHER picture of our plumbago
it is looking quite a picture right now.
30-JAN-2006
Gumtrees & Cattle
I really tossed up which version to put first
after experimenting with sepia toned finish
which I really like, I feel it suits this particular
shot. What do you think?
and here's The Old Gate
29-JAN-2006
Sell your wares...
Besides wine tasting there were tables of
all sorts available for sale
but we just called in for afternoon
tea and a coffee
Here's a display of some extra virgin olive-oil

No sharks - we hope
Australia Day holiday and the beaches will
be filled with families taking a cooling dip
in the sea. We were there yesterday and
almost had the beach to ourselves
and the air was thick with smoke.
A couple more beach photos found in
the supplementary gallery, thus...
25-JAN-2006
Smoky afternoon at the beach...
Smoke from the bushfires hung around the entire
day over the city and countryside, and even
at the beaches. (tripod)
Here's a couple of sulphur crested cockatoos
sitting in a gum tree in the late afternoon sun
just before it set. (hand held)
24-JAN-2006
Emerging.....
This particular gumtree grows on the road verge
just outside our front fence. Today we've been
beavering away raking leaves and bark that fell
during the previous very hot spell we had.
A large branch fell from the ancient tree and
today it was carved up into a wood-heap and
transported to a safer part of the property.
I tossed up which one to feature today... how
do you like the lighting in this shot?

Lily for a day...
Covered in rain-drops. Not a photo that
was taken today, but it was processed
Here's a shot taken yesterday to show
we still have a tinge of green even
after 4 days topping 40C - I experimented
with textures on a boring cow paddock shot.

Bursting...
After 4 days of hovering in the 40+C heat, this
rose just burst forth with a great cluster
of blooms. This one I took tonight after
a welcomed cool change came in
This mini climber was processed today
but the photo was taken in December &
belongs to a long list waiting to
be processed.

The Royal Christening!
Photo was taken in December, but I only processed it today.
We're having a hot spell here, so no seconds or thirds, sorry about that.
Thought this rose had a topical name!

Rambling rose....
Dick has been erecting a trellis for this
little rambler - to share with a matching
clematis.
Just one photo today...we're babysitting again
but school starts again soon.

Pour me another...!
A bottle of Eden Valley Shiraz we took along
for a get-together of real old friends last night.
This wine was made from grapes grown
by another "chalkie" friend who planted a
vineyard when he retired from the "trade"...
and here's one of our old friends,
this one hails originally from Manchester
but he and his wife have lived in
Australia for more than 40 years now.

Singles...
This particular rose bears huge clusters of blooms
which can number to around 200 in one cluster!
My climber is only a couple of years old and
still busy growing, but I'm rather looking forward
to seeing it in full flight!
Here's another rather sweet single
04-DEC-2005
The butterfly bush...
This bush is a butterfly magnet in our summer
Some of the single roses remind me of butterflies, too.
Here are a couple - the first of which was raised from
a seed by my cousin but grows in my rose garden.
and this delightful single red
I am 6 weeks behind processing rose photos and I'm finding other
jewels popping up amongst the roses!
15-JAN-2006
Bull Ants!
I had no idea the ants were on the tecoma when I took
the photos! We were parked in the chemist car-park
near sunset, and Dick had toddled off to pick up a prescription
I was killing time with my camera!
More of the same
but no ants on this one
28-NOV-2005
Cropped....
A rather beautiful hybrid tea rose called "Fresh Cream"
the colour
reminds me of the clotted cream we had many years ago
with home-made quince jelly.
Archive shots today, we've been out to a VERY long lunch!
12-JAN-2006
Bottoms up!
Sitting outside on a balmy summer's evening
re-filling our glasses with ice-cold sparkling shiraz
Not sure what other people say when they
want you to empty your glass, but we
often say "bottom's up..."
Aaah - the busy life of retirees - we're now off to a
picnic in the park to celebrate one of our grandchildren's
8th birthday!
12-JAN-2006
Lucy the dog
Sharing her pergola in the cool of the Australian summer evening
with an visiting ex-pat Ozzie who now lives in Baton Rouge.
Here little Lucy poses for my camera for 2 shots.
Here's the other one that shows off her lovely shiny nose
12-JAN-2006
Beetle on a succulent leaf
Continuing with a colour series
Russet, green and grey
and a touch of pure gold
and more
11-JAN-2006
Blue green and pink...
with a dash of white in the next shot
and a bit more blue for this one
10-JAN-2006
Violet and red
I have a row of hanging pots with fuchsias
drooping from them. This is a close up
of one that's got a few blooms right now.
Here's how they looks in a cluster
09-JAN-2006
...named after...
This particular rose was named after a Polish film producer (I think)
Perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
...and this little rose was named after a long-nosed puppet
07-JAN-2006
The dancer
Our youngest grandson, not quite 5, taking part in 2 traditional dances.
More information about these dances and our 2 granddaughters
can be seen in this photo...
03-NOV-2005
Chop chop....
Which is exactly what I did to this poor rose's photo
She's a sprawly shrub that grows like a wide mushroom.
Here are 3 more...

Ssshhh ....the putt!
For our "special" luncheon our table was on the balcony of the club house
where we had a panoramic view of the golfers, vineyards and ocean
http://www.linksladybay.com/
Here are 3 more golf shots
The special? Our 44th wedding anniversary!
Aboriginal Rhythm Sticks...
These are archival again today...we've been babysitting 2 crotchetty kids
who are sick of only having another sibling to play with.
These aboriginal rhythm sticks are hand-made
and they are sitting on my grand piano lid.
Here is the grandchildren having a lesson in traditional
aboriginal dancing.
03-JAN-2006
Pure gold for a day
We have quite a few daylilies blooming right now
Here are a couple of other flowers also in bloom
this time of year
and a rose I've just processed from early November
31-DEC-2005
Best friends...
Three with the first name of ANDREW
taking a spell from the barbecue, New Year's Eve
..in 38C heat...
The one in the middle is one of my son-in-laws.
I'm still processing November roses,
here's "Falstaff" taken side on and facing.
...another difficult one colour to photograph...
29-NOV-2005
The most difficult rose to photograph...
She's a most beautiful & buxom thing, but I discard so many
photos taken of this rose, she always comes out like a jam tart
This is the best I've ever managed...its archival because I'm
so far behind processing our November rose flush.
We've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous down here
yesterday the temperature was over 100F and today
we're back to the 60'sF and its rained nearly all day!
Hope everyone is well rested after last night's frivolities,
no hang-overs!!!
