Afternoon sunlight...
Shining through some protea leaves.
Can you guess which part of a ladder
this shot was taken of?

a couple of days ago
and in a similar theme - Violina

Bouganvillea
We had a delightful get-together of old friends
last night. The meal was al fresco in the pretty
garden graced by this colourful bouganvillea.
Our hostess's specialty is pork pies, which Dick LOVES!
..and a couple more shots of
the bouganvillea

Especially For Valentine's Day
Been saving this one for a few days,
its a few hours early even for us Down Under

Harvesting the pines
They're all coming out and new ones will most probably take
their place. Its where Dick rides his horse - instead of
riding amongst shady trees he's riding amongst stubs left
behind ...no doubt it will be cleared properly and nice neat
rows of new pines will be planted.
Another shot in black & white
and yesterday's young filly with her mum

Peeling
We had 40mls of rain during the night. This morning
we were greeted by gumtrees shedding their bark
and the mess on the paths! Take a look at the
pathway in the following shot I experimented with!
and here's a fully opened ROYAL bloom

Watch where you walk!
Often discovered too late when walking around the garden!
But there are other things in the garden besides spiders...
e.g., this pretty silver moth
or a bottlebrush bloom that looks similar to robins nestling in
a shrub especially in the early morning sunshine
and lastly the delicacy of an aquilegia seed capsule
If you notice the date - the reason is a snake which I found while
spreading pea-straw in the rose garden so I'm staying out of the garden
for a few days. Our snakes are venomous, one
person made the morning paper because he got bitten and is
fighting for his life in hospital!

February roses..
There's quite a bit of colour in the rose garden
patches of blooms here and there.

and an earlier shot of CP
showing the variation of colour

My bush has blooms like this 2nd one the same time as the
shot featured as the main rose today.

Betty & Polly
Two little heifer calves we have to
replace 3 steers who went off to market
last week. They help keep our grass
in check during the bushfire season.
Another shot of Polly, who nearly
missed being in the above shot.
and a Banksia in the early morning sunlight

Leaves...
Very bright sunlight today, so had
to go hunting in the shady spots
