Not that much happening in the rose garden, just a few below par examples of summer roses in flower.
A damaged Just Joey and smaller versions of the Crown Princess Margarita and a dash of colour from a hanging basket
in the gazebo of portulacas. I have a pot on the outside table of this single coloured portulaca as well as the hanging
basket, and change over from the spring violas for our hot dry summer.
Yesterday a bushfire broke out 3 ks from where we live, the roads were closed off, not ours, but the main road to the little town
of Clarendon where we often go to post letters, buy a paper and visit the bakery, we also buy a bunch of native flowers there, but not yesterday.
The fire has been controlled thankfully, but not entirely out yet. A week ago another fire started not that far from us. We are very alert at this time of
year! What we used to do before we had mobile (cell) phones!
