Palm Trees

Clifton Beach, tropical north Queensland

They seem to grow like weeds in the area we were staying. I tried to
find out the type of palm thinking they were coconut trees, but I'm not
sure. Don will probably know the correct name.

Yes, Coconut Palms (Cocos nucifera). It is questionable whether they're native to Australia. I see the Queensland Herbarium distinguishes between a wild variety that they treat as native and a domesticated variety that has gone feral and is regarded as not native. I've no idea how you tell them apart.

Very nice shot of them. Nice detail and placement in the frame. They grow like weeds here as well, but I can't help with the ID. "V"
