E. Leucoxylon

At home

This is the tree the bird's seed dish hangs on... it is a self-sown tree
and very tall now. A close up for the textured bark commonly
seen on the base of the "Australian Blue Gum" widely distributed
in our area and open forests and woodlands,
preferring clay soils and higher rainfall areas on flat and hilly terrain in
Victoria and South Australia.

When I lived in Victoria many decades ago, it was all around and we knew it as Yellow Gum. Brings back memories. A great tree to attract birds when it is in flower.

Those rough barks do look good in photos.

I like the shaggy bark and long leaves. Reminds me of a willow tree in a way.
