Banksia

At home

I have featured this banksia before, if you scroll down to the "b's"
you'll see that this is growing on a small tree - it is located
alongside our front gate in a small bush garden. Unfortunately
the tree has been attacked by white ants and a section has been
lost, but it survives and produced this lovely new bloom recently.

With that foliage, I guess it is some exotic WA species; striking!
