The pathway into the garden.

Mt. Barker Springs, South Australia

The garden is 3 acres and was a former cow paddock with a stone cottage. A
big problem is the exposure to the sun in our hot dry summers and another challenge
is the exposure to winds. The watering is by bore water that unfortunately
has a fairly high salt content. This is the first of a handful of photos
taken while we wandered around the large garden.

A very overcast day so quite some licence taken by me and PS.

Nice perspective. Plants look healthy and happy, despite conditions.

I agree about the Yellow Brick Road, Yvonne! Your good composition is inviting a wander. It looks most interesting.

Following the yellow brick road? Say hi to the Wizard of South Oz for me!
It may be salty but at least it's there... for now. The big problem is of course that water is coming out of the Great Artesian Basin way faster than it's going in... and it took 2 million years to fill. I don't want to think about what will happen at the relevant future "some day".
