Stressed koala

At home

Poor little koala accidentally upended the bird's water dish, luckily I fixed the dish
and gave the koala a squirt with the hose to cool him down... he's content to stay here all day until the cool change arrives.
We've had 5 days over 40 degrees Celsius, yesterday reaching close to 44C up here in the hills where we live. We're waiting for the change
this afternoon and a return to livable weather for us, the animals and garden.

Update: Koala has moved into a eucalyptus tree to have a meal, and the cool change has arrived!

How lucky he is to have you to take care of him during the extreme heat this year. Similar temps here, hope we get a break in the weather soon!
This is a wonderful portrait with excellent detail. V

Just came to visit to check you are not affected by the bush fires . I hope they are not near to you, and you survive this horrible heat wave safely.

Oh, poor little guy, he does look worn out from the heat. I can't imagine those temperatures. I find anything over 22c to be too hot! V

We have heard about your high temps from watching the Australian Open. It must be stressful for all of you and the animals. I hope it cools down quickly for you.
