Sulphur crested cockatoo

At home

I took this photo through the window as the cockatoo was sitting on the balustrade of
the front balcony. You can see some damage near the feet done earlier by these birds,
they chew wooden structures. One year we returned from a holiday and thought we'd had
a break-in, but it was damage done by the birds, chewing at doors etc.

I had the wrong lens in, but decided not to go and change because the bird would have
flown off & I would have missed the opportunity.

Very pretty but amazingly destructive. None of our birds cause damage except occasionally woodpeckers. Our squirrels can be quite destructive, though. They have ruined many of the boards on my decking by chewing away at the wood to get to nuts and seeds that have fallen between the cracks. They have also wrecked countless numbers of my bird feeders.
