Tanganekald

The Coorong Conservation Park - South Australia

Tanganekald - a word from the dialect of the Ngarrindjeri language once spoken
throughout the Tangane clan territory. Up to and around the period of colonisation,
an extended family group of Tanganekald speaking Aboriginal people lived
and moved between various seasonal campsites in this area.
At different points in time they
came together with other families from nearby regions for ceremonies, exchanging
knowledge & technology, forming hunting groups and for trade dealings.

When we stopped here to take photos we met up with 2 other (Canon) photographers who
were taking shots of the native birdlife - and they had HUGE lens, I got to have
a feel of the biggest looking lens, but it was too heavy for me.

yes, some telephoto lenses are whoppers - even the relatively common 100-400mm seems huge to me.
very interesting coastline - I guess it's the wrong time of year to find wild flowers?
