The cemetery

Peterborough - South Australia view map

We had a quick wander around this old cemetery - I have some ancesters here!

Peterborough is a railway town, its greatest claim to fame is that it is one of
only two places in Australia where three railway gauges meet. This particular
absurdity was the result of different state governments being unable (or unwilling)
to agree on a standard railway gauge.

So much history. Wonderful colours, the obligatory peppercorns and the trees that had been lopped at some stage.

The dirt & the peppercorn, so very typical of the bush. When Ian flew pigeons some of the long races were from Peterborough

Amazing to see this sienna coloured soil in a graveyard! We are so accustomed to dark grey soil and green overgrowth.
