Mt Shasta, a sacred mountain

We live about 60 miles from Mt. Shasta, and pass her each time we go south to California. She towers above the other Cascade Mountains. We can see her from home. She is sacred to the Shasta Tribe, to the Tibetan Buddhists that have adopted Shasta and to many "New Age" people that believe it holds special properties.

I remember seeing a group of folks " Living In Tee Pee's " near McCloud in 1977 while hiking to Canada who believed these little hobbit things lived in the Mountain. They ate out of the dumpster from Safeway in nearby town of Shasta. ( Day,, or week old maple bars never tasted so good ) They all grew pot on the side and took great photos!!! vote
