DeSoto. The first post war Desoto lasted from model years 1946 through 1948, and specific model year could only be distinguished by their serial numbers and very minor trim changes or colors offered. DeSoto continued the verticle bar grille theme first introduced in 1941, and lasting through model year 1955. These were very sturdy dependable cars, many were used in taxi service. They were available with Chrysler's first semi-automatic transmission called "Fluid Drive".
