The 46 & 47 had red stripes on the grill sections, the 48 had no stripes.

If I remember correctly, the difference between a '47 and Ford was that the '47 had rubber mats on the covered running boards under the doors and the '48 had aluminum sill plates. The '47 had a locking steering wheel and ignition toggle switch. The '48 had the key switch only on the steering column bracket but it no longer locked the wheel. Other than that, they were pretty much the same car.

Ford didn't make this easy. Early 47s looked like 46s and later 47s are identical to 48s. The main difference was the parking light shape and position. The 46/47 had rectangular lights up above the grille. The 47/48 had round lights like this one.

This is not a 1946 ford or if it is the parking lights have been changed to a 1947 or 1948 model.
