Bansui-sōdō (晩翠草堂) was a house originally inhabited by local poet and scholar of English literature, Doi Bansui. The original home was destroyed in the firebombing of Sendai during World War II, but the poet's students put money together to have it rebuilt. It now functions as a museum and information center on his life.
