Arimatsu Shibori Matsuri 有松絞り祭

Now a quiet suburb on the edge of Nagoya's Midori ward, the formerly separate town of Arimatsu once straddled the historic Tōkaidō, just east of Narumi-juku (the 40th post station). Famed for its shibori - traditional tie-dyeing for kimono - the town holds a pair of annual festivals along its well-preserved main street, each featuring a trio of decorative floats.
