I placed Byron's quote in Roman's gallery over a decade ago before I met Shadow.
However, I must admit that Roman could be quite a rambunctious character having been an ex-racer.
Still, he was always friendly to people.

Shadow, by comparison was a kindly soul.
Aside from a few bees, he was always a friend to any stranger big and small.
His kind eyes were a window directly into his kind soul.
Though I will always miss Shadow, it is my wife that really felt the loss.
She had nursed him to health from near death before I had met her.

It took much, much longer to nurse his broken soul.
And I think, though he was a pure creature,
that it was my wife's handling and grace that made him the angel he was and is.

Shadow passed away March 3rd, 2021. He is laid to rest next to Fia, Arlo and Carlow.
