Shadow the Lurcher

Shadow was found hobbling along the road, having apparently been hit by a car. He was emaciated, covered in lesions, and when a local rescue took him to the vet, they were informed he would likely not survive the night.
Fortunately, he did survive. And with a lot of love and patience, he physically recovered.
He would be a rather timid and fearful hound for quite some time afterwards.
My wife took him in to her home before I met her, and with a lot of love and effort, turned him in to the handsome confident creature you see before you here. He had the most soulful eyes of any creature I had ever met.
I can honestly say my life was made better having known him.

We had to say goodbye in 2021. My wife had 10 years with him at that point, and had traveled often with him and loved him very dearly. She was absolutely crushed. I will always miss him. He is now buried on a good friend's farm out in the country in Tipperary. It's beautiful there.
