9.17.05 The Collectible Shop

Moorefield, West Virginia

I have had my eye on this building for over a year now. It is, in my mind, a landmark in Hardy County, West Virginia. I've passed by this building hundreds of times. I wanted to try to capture the feeling of nostalgia and americana I get when I drive by.

i grew up from 1976 to 1983 less than 1 mile from this building...in moorefield, wv... i have great memories of it as a basic grocery store.... in fact.... as a youth.. i unknowingly stole a candybar from this store.... when we got in the car and my mom saw me eating it.. she asked where i had got it... and i quickly learned it was not right to just take things.... and i learned you must pay for everything you want...
a great life lesson... becasue of this little store at the bottom of the hill....

Oh wouldn't I like to poke my nose in there. We had a lot of places just likethis in Australia too.

I'd say you suceeeded. Perfect lighting. Old plows and such are big sellers here. People use them as lawn ornaments. :)

Well done. I would also like to see a B&W or brown toned version too.--Rene

Great, "Americana" loud and clear. The soft shadow add to the image.

Well, you've definitely caught the feelings of nostalgia and Americana here because I felt it as soon as I saw this photo. Great job.
