These images were taken at Lake Martin (Lafayette, LA) and Avery Island (New Iberia, LA) April 8-11, 2004. Most of the images were taken with the Canon 10D using a Canon 600mm f4L telephoto; a few were taken with the Canon 100-400mm zoom lens.

Great pictures!! My favorite is the Egret standing on the turtle. Talk about adding a few pounds without eating!!

Hi, Bill, Where's the gator? Loved the bird pix...mine didn't come out well on the digital 'cause I was too far away for much detail. At least I could look at yours and appreciate the beauty of the birds. Thanks.

Hey Bill, Loved the pics! I don't know much about birds, I didn't know there was a bird with a round beak! Love the pic with the mail feeding the newby baby bird! Are the males feeders of the offspring or both male and females?
