On February 1, 2004 I went to Murray Park to see if any birds were willing to be photographed. I didn't know it then but was in for a fun surprise. A hovercraft from Hovercraft of Arkansas ( http://www.usamarineservice.com/ ) was parked in the parking lot above the boat ramp. After I learned how the machine operates from its owner, Dan McCaulley (hovercraft@alltel.net) I got some great shots as the craft was driven down the ramp and onto the Arkansas River. The hovercraft is surprisingly quiet and fast. It looks like a lot of fun!
