After a brief respite and a hearty lunch, we were ready to go out into the bush veld again. As luck would have it, the noontime and early afternoon is nap time for the creatures, so nothing much is happening, except many different species snoozing in the sun or shade. But there was still much to see near the compound. With our Ranger Guide taking the lead and our Zulu tracker guarding our rear, we set off on a walking safari. This was scary, no Land Rover to protect us or to use for a get-away, should something go wrong. Luckily the Ranger had his trusty rifle at the ready, but it was never needed.
