Rudy Dean Cockers (V1 and V2)

A bit of an oddball cocker in design, the Rudy cockers were built by Rudy Dean with one goal in mind: Create the ultimate low pressure cocker. You will hear many things about just how valid low pressure is, and how to achieve it, irregardless of that, this is an interesting piece of paintball history, and an idea taken to an extreme.

There were two versions built, the early ones were based around an AKA design, the later versions were custom built with integrated front block. About 150 Rudy’s were built, though not all left the store.

I have been told that the arrangement of the pneumatics was designed to be a more efficient and straight forward delivery of air. While I am unsure just how the actual physics plays out, the idea was to send a straight shot of air to the valve rather then a 90* bend for the air input leading to the lpr, valve and volumizer.

From the standpoint of maximizing air volume, I and many others did basically the same thing when AKA introduced the tornado valve by running bottom line regs into a hollow foregrip to maximize the volume between reg and valve, this was the same concept as the volumizer air chambers AKA made popular. Although in some cases for some guns in extreme low pressure applications they were necessary to add volume, for the most part they were a $20 wallet lightener for most people. In this case, to achieve the lowest pressure, they were a must.
