Antares 0.5x Focal Reducer Testing

Testing the Antares 0.5x Focal Reducer on the 9.25 inch Celestron EdgeHD. The camera is an SBIG ST-8300M (monochrome) CCD. All images are binned 1x1 (i.e., no binning) which yields an image scale of 0.47 arc-seconds per pixel. My standard practice is to image binned 2x for a scale of 0.95 arc-seconds per pixel. In this series of tests, the camera was moved closer to the telescope (OTA) and later the FR to CCD distance was reduced.

Baseline images taken at f/10 are presented for comparison.

Phase II - testing resumed 12-Dec-2010, using a shorter Feathertouch SCT adapter.
