A Weekend in Okayama

October 7-9, 2004

Every fall, the Stanford Center students make a weekend homestay trip to a cluster of small country villages in the countryside of Okayama prefecture.

Tetta-cho (Nj, my host village, was quite a bit more mountainous than Kohoku back in Shiga, but still had that wonderful, fresh, Japanese inaka feeling in the air, a welcome change after several months of city life in Kusatsu and Kyoto.
