Hi Matt, thanks for your comments. I've enjoyed your photos as well. As for the 24-120VR, I find that the photos from this lens are a bit on the soft side. I bought this lens is because of it's range (don't prefer to carry too many lens around) and it's VR function. As for battery consumption, I only turn VR on when I need to, other than that it's off most of the time. So can't really tell how much this lens drain the battery. But I believe it does make some impact on battery consumption. I think you've done well in capturing some convincing test photos with your setup. I have the D70 body as well and I'm thinking about buying the 24-120 VR to go with it as well as my film body. How do you like this lens? Does the VR use up batteries faster with the D70?
