Interior view of McCaig's Tower, a folly begun in 1897. Besides a lasting monument for his family, philantropic banker Mc Caig meant to provide work for local stonemasons during the winter baisse. The colosseum-like structure was not finished before McCaig died in 1902. For lack of funding, the project was abandoned.
