Your words ring true for this photographer as well-the truth can be so stark, but as a photographer we can soften it with photoshop LOL... LOVE YOUR WORK!!

Elliot Erwitt's basic rule of portraiture is one should always include hands, because they are, according to him (and others) more expresive than the face. Well, maybe that's true if we only consider the "FACE", but it's not true when considering "EYES". There is a reason people speak of hand-eye-coordination, and why magicians speak of the hand being quicker than the eye. So I think, as photographers, we've intuitively discovered a link between humanism and physiology. We might say that the hand represents the body and the eye the spirit. I agree with Nietzsche that, insofar it pertains to photography, photographs reveal neither the preservation of life, nor freedom from something, nor power as a means to accomplish some specific end: what photographer's desire, I think, is power itself; another life, as it were, richer and stronger; a rebirth of beauty and perfection in every photo taken, and in the next one, and the next one, and the one after that.

I like how you identify with your eye and your vision. I think the photographer's eye can have favorites though, and can nudge the truth toward one side or other. Pure objectivity is pretty elusive!
