I apprecate the concerned messages I've received from my PBase friends who have been missing me. All is well...very very well, in fact. The Blue Mirror Project continues to enthrall me. I've now been at it for eight months and don't see an end in sight. I just keep thinking of new places I want to bring my mirror. What an engaging project!
I took this photo at the museum shop that was set up outside the FABULOUS "Richard Avedon: Fashion" exhibit now showing at the Detroit Institute of Art. It was organized by ICP (International Center of Photography) in NYC and is traveling around the country. See it if you can. This shop not only had catalogues and books but, because the subject was fashion, they had amazing handmade clothing, including hats. I would encourage my chosen subjects (people who interested me) to play "dress-up" with the hats, scarves, etc. and then pose with the mirror. It was great fun for all!
An amazing thing happened a few weeks back. Jim Estrin of the New York Times photography blog, "Lens," featured me and my "Falling Into Place" self portrait project on the blog. Here's the link:

I tell you, life is stranger than fiction. I feel like I'm just along for the ride...and I'm loving every minute! Hope all is well with you...
