A miniature antelope commonly found in south-east African countries.
They are found in areas with sparse vegetation, mostly shrubs and bushes, and also
in the Serengeti Kopjes which provides excellent hidding places among the large boulders.
Their are very secretive and protective of their young to the point that hardly anyone
has ever been able to see their young in the wild.
They have a mobile snout (like a mini trunk), large eyes and ears and pointed, erectile hair.
They have glands on the side of their nose bridge (preorbital) which they frequently
rub against branches and sticks to mark their territory.
They are a favorite prey for leopards, which favors the same territories, but also can fall
prey of jackals, hyenas, wild dogs, caracals, eagles, and fawns can be easy prey even for
baboons and snakes.
