These Sumatran Tigers are very, very special to me and I hope you enjoy and love them as much as I do. Pandji, one of our male tigers, has passed on and we miss him dearly, but he still lives in the hearts of those who knew him. He will never be forgotten. He was very precious. These albums are dedicated to him. Update: Chrissie our nine year old female Sumatran Tiger may be pregnant She has mated with Berani for three days in her estrus. Updates to come. Update: It's looking like she is pregnant. Her nipples are getting larger which is a sign of a pregnant tiger and she is spending more time in the night quarters that we have prepared for her giving birth. We are watching her very closely. Update: Chissie is pregnant. We are prepping her quarters for her cubs that we are expecting probably September 7th thru the 10th. So far so good. Update: 9/13/08. We found out that she carried her last cubs for 109 days. She has not been eating as much as she normally eats which is another sign that she's about to give birth. In fact she didn't touch her dinner today at all so it seems she may give birth in the next 48 hours. Update: Chrissie had three cubs early Monday, 9/15/08. We don't know the sexes yet because she needs total privacy for at least 3 to 4 weeks with her new born cubs. They seem to be doing well. Update:9/20/08 Mom and cubs are doing good so far. We are watching them very closely through a closed tv circuit so we don't disturb them. Chrissie is doing very well, she is a very good mom. She carried them for 107 days. (09/21/08) Chrissie is doing well and so are the cubs. Their eyes should be opening soon. Pictures will come when it is appropriate. We don't want to cause any unnecessary disturbance. (09/24/08) The cub's eyes are open and they are very active. They have all picked up weight and size extremely well. Chrissie is being the perfect mom. (10/01/08) The cubs are getting bigger and getting more active now that their eyes are open and their legs are getting stronger. They (the cubs) couldn't ask for a better mom. Chrissie knows what she's doing and we are so grateful for that. (10/15/08) The cubs are getting bigger and more active and starting to drive mom nuts:). They are precious beyond belief. Hopefully they will be on exihbit within two weeks. (10/18/08) I have a new gallery "Chrissie's Cubs". I will keep everyone updated there.
We love these pictures! How beautiful! We just moved this past summer from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where Chrissie and Berani also came from. We spoke with you one day at the zoo and you gave us this web address. Thank you! You do amazing work! We have emailed this site to friends back in Ft. Wayne so that they can still have a connection to Berani and Chrissie. People always ask us how they are doing. Now they can also enjoy looking at these pictures of the tigers and still feel connected to them. You are very talented and you display how truly beautiful these animals are in your work. Mahalo for showcasing these tigers in such an amazing and special way! Berani and Chrissie mean a lot to us and to many people back in Ft. Wayne as well. Thank you for being a part of helping us all stay connected to them.
Sincerely,
Michelle, Roland, Caleb and Ava Resurreccion
