John S. Ingles, father of long-time TRAINS Magazine staffer J. David Ingles, was a mechanical engineer by profession, also a railroader,
photographer, live-steamer, and O-gauge model railroader. John was born in Glenwood, Minn., a Soo Line division point, in October 1907, and died
in Santa Rosa, CA in September 2003, at age 95
