Wow, this is a superb collection of photos! I'm not sure how I missed this gallery the first time, but I'm glad I ran across it now. The compositions, tight crops and vivid colors really make these images stand out. Like the rest of your galleries, this one really shows off your exceptional talent as a photographer.

Hi Wendy, You've got a great eye for seeing the potential for compositions. I am interested in knowing how you feel about using a DSLR (your new digital rebel) vs your other digcamera. Bottom line is that it's the photographer's vision that makes the photos come alive, and you've got that. Hus wondered what your impression was now that you've been using a DSLR with interchangeable lenses.

Wendy, I must add my voice to those who already raved about this gallery. But I beg to differ with some of the opinions implying that your new camera -- the Canon 300D Rebel -- is responsible for these remarkable images. As I tell my students, photographers, not cameras, make photographs. I am sure you enjoy your new SLR's advantages, particularly in terms of lens choice. But it is your own ability to isolate vivid primary colors, your own skill at transforming ordinary subjects into extraordinary abstractions, and your own consistently clean and simple style that makes your work so special, not the camera happen to be using. Only a few of these pictures -- the ones with soft focus backgrounds -- could only have been made with a digital SLR. The balance of these photographs might have just as easily been made with your digicam. It is your own vision, Wendy, that these pictures celebrate. Those who believe that good pictures automatically come with good equipment are deluding themselves. Your overall body of work is proof of that -- you have become one of the most enjoyable photographers on pbase because of your vision, not your optics.

Absolutely dynamite gallery, Wendy. I've been waffling between the Minolta A1 and the Rebel. This is certainly a convincing argument!
