Corpse Flower

This is the extremely rarely blooming amorphophallus titanum, also called Titan Arum, or commonly "corpse flower." These particular pictures were taken at Quail Botanical Gardens, in Encinitas, California, on October 7, 2004. At this time, the flower was already closing up again, after it had opened about a day and a half earlier.

I never knew such a GIANT flower really existed!
I am....beyond impressed.
Yes, if this thing does not smell good, it must be a HUGE scent!!!
But still, what a privilege to SEE this giant flower...i wish you also saw it in bloom :))) Next time! Thank you for sharing, i learned something today ;))
