The Merced Grove of giant sequoia trees in Yosemite. These are actually comparatively little sequoias, but one can walk right up
to these trees. At the other two groves of sequoias in Yosemite, the trees are reportedly fenced in, since these 2000 year old giants
have surprisingly delicate roots, and there is concern that too much foot traffic at the more frequented groves could damage the trees.
