This magnificent bird is a Harpy Eagle (its name tells you what mythological creature it was named after.) Extinct in Central America, it is now quite rare but can still be found in parts of Latin America. A resident of rain forests, it takes large prey such as sloths, monkeys and even baby capybaras. Another example of how diminished this world would be if this incredible bird disappears.

Why does it have fingers sticking out of its head? Did it swallow someone's hand? LOL! Great capture of this very unusual looking eagle! ) V
