21 January 2005: In isolated places, the wild flowers are already in full bloom. This is exceptionally early. The peak bloom may be as early as two weeks from now. Normally, it would be sometime in March. This year may turn out to be one of the best blooms ever.
5 February 2005: Wow, a lot has changed in the last two weeks. The area around Coyote Creek is still dominated by sand verbenas and desert primroses, but we saw a lot of different flowers as well. Henderson Canyon Road is showing off an incredibly dense stand of desert sun flowers.
27 February 2005: Another few weeks and again lots of changes, but it is still very beautiful. The rare and fragrant desert lilies are in full bloom in a number of places, and ocotillo is in full bloom as well. However, most of the dense stands of flowers from the previous weeks' pictures are past their prime. Scroll down to the bottom to see the pictures from this day.
