St Mary's of Praha was built in 1865 by the Czech and Moravian families who settled in the area. The first church was a small wooden structure. This building was constructed in 1895 and was named The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is of 19th century architecture and the stone was hauled to the site by oxen froma nearby town. The vaulted ceiling was painted by a Swiss artist and has never been repainted.
