We set the alarm for early on Tuesday morning so we could get over to Sparks Lane for a sunrise. The Cades Cove loop road is closed and gated at sunset and doesn't reopen until sunrise. Cars line up at the gate early and wait for somebody important to come around to unlock the gate. Sunrise was around 7:45am, but overcast skies prevented any decent shots. There wasn't even any fog, wildlife, or anything else very interesting to shoot so we decided to head back to the Cable Mill area to shoot before the crowds arrived. This time I decided to put on the 70-300mm lens and see what I could capture. People are allowed to roam the fields, but most people don't so that's where Cindy and I headed first. It provided a different view of the house and the very yellow maple that ended up in a lot of my shots.
