Are there examples of good descriptive photos? Or good photos are eventually all expressive?

Phil, thanks for the reminder. It's probabaly a low start. When I can't include all elements, I'll throw out some things for experimentation.

Thanks, Shirley, for linking me to this new gallery. If expression is your goal, rather than description, it is important that you keep in mind the three key principles of expression as discussed in my cyberbook: abstraction, incongruity, and human values. I would also consider changing the style sheet here to the one you use in your other galleries. I think that photographers should offer a consistent look from gallery to gallery. Your other style sheet is cleaner in look, easier to read, and more professional looking.

The strongest images here are those with the silhouetted people in them, but they are not quite as strong as a similar image you have posted elsewhere. As I recall it, it was cleaner, lonelier, and more expressive than the versions you post here.
