Missouri, the Show-me state, is located in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is the 19th-most populous state of the country and ranks 21st in terms of land area. Missouri river flows thru the middle of the state and into the Mississippi River, which makes up the eastern border with Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee. It was incorporated into the US as part of the Louisiana Purchase from France.
