Column of Dancers. Delphi Archaeological Museum
Carved from fine Pentelic marble around 330 BC, this lower segment of the Column of Dancers features massive, dramatically unfurled acanthus leaves that appear to naturally sprout from the floor to cradle the fluted column shaft.
