The magnificent marble Atrium floor mosaic located directly in front of the entrance to the Basilica of Montserrat. Designed by artist Josep Obiols during the mid-20th-century post-war reconstructions, the circular design is inspired by the famous pavement of Rome's Capitol hill and is rich in Christian symbolism. It features intricate white marble inlays on dark stone depicting sea life, whales, and fish—referencing baptism and creation—all ringed by Latin inscriptions celebrating the Virgin Mary.
